Little Mountain is a mountain in the central part of Vancouver bounded by 41st Avenue in the south, 16th Avenue to the north, Cambie Street in the west and Fraser Street to the east. Little Mountain is a volcanic formation who’s elevation is 127 metres. This site was once mined for granitic basalts and is now home to a public park called Queen Elizabeth Park and Bloedel Floral Conservatory. The Conservatory has a large geodesic dome and is home to a variety of fish, small mammals and exotic birds as well as a large indoor tropical garden. Little Mountain is also home to Nat Bailey Stadium and the Vancouver Olympic Paralympic Centre as well as many one of a kind restaurants, grocers and boutiques.

In the early 1900's a scattered community began to thrive on upper Main Street, the residents were primarily Little Mountain quarry workers who mined volcanic rock to use for surfacing the area's first roads. In the 1920's the rock quarry was converted into the City's water reservoir and in 1940 Little Mountain became Queen Elizabeth Park and the water reservoir was covered to serve as the parks parking lot. This neighbourhood had deep roots in Vancouver's baseball history and the Vancouver Capilanos baseball team opened Capilano Stadium which was renamed to Nat Bailey Stadium in 1952 and is home to the Vancouver Canadians minor baseball team. Nat Bailey Stadium continues to be a much loved venue for various events to this day.
