Chiropractic Care

Many of us take our spine for granted. It is made up of 24 vertabrae which house your spinal cord and protect your nervous sytem. When these bones become misaligned or subluxated, we often begin to feel pain and sense a loss of movement.

Chiropractic care can help to re-align the vertabrae and restore movement. Often massage therapy, ultrasound, cold  or hot laser, specific nutrition and acupuncture are added as complimentary therapies for a faster recovery.

Chiropractic therapy may be helpful in treating the following conditions:

  • Neck pain and headaches
  • Back pain and sciatica
  • Hip, knee, ankle and foot pain (bursitis, tendonitis, sprains, fasciitis)
  • Shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand pain (tendonitis, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel)
  • Car accidents
  • Work injuries
  • Sports injuries

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy offers a natural and conservative approach to relieving musculoskeletal pain for many patients. Our centre provides massage that is tailored to meet each patient’s condition. The benefits of massage therapy may include increasing blood and lymphatic circulation, reducing swelling and edema, relaxing spasms which all help in reducing pain and improving range of motion.

Our massage therapist is a registered member which allows you to claim your treatments through MSP or extended health plans. Please note that a medical doctor’s prescription may be needed to claim.

Registered Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine

Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine can be a good single therapy or a complimentary therapy to chiropractic and massage. Acupuncture can be viewed as a way of treating specific health conditions from either a more traditional Eastern whole body wellness approach to a more modern Western, site specific approach. It is typically up to the therapist to make the decision as to which method would be more applicable for the patient. Patients are always informed as to what their treatment plans will entail.

If you are looking for an alternative approach to an existing new or old health problem, please consider acupuncture and Chinese medicine as a sound and reasonable option. In case needles scare you, acupressure may be a better way to go. Most patients feel incredibly relaxed after their treatments.

Our acupuncturist is registered which allows you to claim it from MSP or extended health palns. Please note that a medical doctor’s prescription may be needed in order to claim.

Active Release Therapy

As well as adjustments, Dr. Meinzer may include or singularly use Active Release Therapy (ART).  ART has been proven to be an excellent muscle and fascia release technique which evolved from treating Olympic athletes and their muscular problems. The technique requires the doctor to apply specific pressure into the muscle as the patient actively moves that muscle through it’s fullest range of motion. After several applications, the once tight, restricted and micro-scarred tissue, begins to lengthen and soften as the scars or adhesions begin to break down and re-align themselves again.

Frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis and golfer’s elbow are a few good examples of conditions ART can be used to treat.
